Prenatal Yoga

Come strengthen and relax your body, calm your mind and connect with your baby in  a community environment with other expectant moms.  Learn how to use gentle postures, stretching, breath work, toning, relaxation and meditation techniques to cultivate flexibility, calm and confidence during pregnancy.  Through this yoga practice, you will discover your own body wisdom and develop a sense of well-being to guide you through the journey of pregnancy, childbirth and motherhood.   Prenatal yoga is beneficial at any time during your pregnancy.  No previous yoga experience is necessary.  Classes are typically organized into 8 weeks sessions, though many students choose to do more than one session during their pregnancy.

Jennifer is certified with Janice Clarfield, Pregnacy Yoga and also with Sue Elkind, Prenatal Yoga.

Class Times and Locations

  • Hillsborough:  Wednesdays, 6:15-7:15 PM.  Next 8 week session begins October 13, 2010 and ends December 1, 2010, at Shreeheart Yoga Studio in Hillsborough, NJ, at Pheasants Landing Shopping Center, 311 Amwell Road, Suite 2.  Preregistration required although you may join a session after it begins.  Call Shreeheart Yoga Studio at 908-281-6811 or Jennifer at 908-625-8848 to register. Please bring a cushion or pillow with you to class. 

  • Princeton area:  Thursdays at 7:00 PM.  Next 8 week session TBD with University Medical Center at Princeton.  Pre-registration for 8 week session required although you may join a session after it begins.  Call 1-888-897-8979 to register or go to www.princetonhcs.org/calendar.  Class location at Princeton Fitness and Wellness Center, Rocky Hill.  Please bring 2 pillows or cushions and yoga strap, tie, or scarf for stretching.  Call Jennifer at 908-625-8848 with any questions.

One Day Prenatal Partner Yoga Weekend 2010 Workshops

  • January 9, 2010 10 AM to 12 Noon-Princeton

  • March 13, 2010, 10 AM to 12 Noon-Princeton
  • May 15, 2010, 10 AM to 12 Noon-Hillsborough location, Shreeheart Yoga, 311 Amwell Road.   Fee is $35.
  • November 13, 2010, 10 AM to 12 Noon-Princeton

Designed to help pregnant couples learn supportive positions which can help the mother-to-be stretch and feel better, both during pregnancy and the actual labor.  Couples will practice together postures, breath work, and massage.  No previous yoga experience necessary.  Please bring 2 pillows or cushions.
